After hosting four consecutive annual festivals on the company's own premises in Gutenstetten,
Germany, the Meinl Drum Festival is now going international and will be held in Moscow on June 06th, 2009.
"Our idea is to host the festival in an international metropolis one year, and then go back to Gutenstetten again the year after," explains Meinl's festival coordinator Norbert Saemann. "This year we will debut the international Meinl Drum Festival in Moscow, Russia. Drummers all over the world have followed the previous festival on the internet and have watched the videos we produced. We
have had an especially strong demand from Russian drummers to host a Meinl Drum Festival in
Moscow. When our Russian distributor, O.K. & Co. Company, expressed their interest in hosting it and offered to organise the event together with us, the decision was clear to put together the first ever international Meinl Drum Festival. "
Meinl's distributor O.K. & Co. did an online survey among Russian drummers in order to find out which
of Meinl's endorsees they prefer in the line-up. Their votes were obvious and as of now the line-up of
Meinl artists performing at the Meinl Drum Festival in Moscow on June 06th are:
Mike Terrana, USA (Tarjia) Wolfgang Haffner, Germany (Nils Landgren, Till Broenner) Snake, Russia (Agata Kristy, Naive)
Benny Greb, Germany (Jerobeam) Thomas Lang, Austria

concludes Norbert Saemann. "We're proud to present some of our top artists to the Russian drummers, and I am sure our first international Meinl Drum Festival will make history in Russia."
The 2009 Meinl Drum Festival will be held on June 06th at the Moscow Palace of Youth in Moscow, Russia.
